100xcento design
Danese showcased at Rinascente to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Milanese department store

100 design objects have been displayed in the eight windows of Rinascente to illustrate a century of history and costume at the exhibition "100XCENTO DESIGN" curated by Elle Decor.

To celebrate the hundred years of Rinascente also two iconic pieces of Danese Milano: the Formosa calendar designed by Enzo Mari in 1963 and the Falkland suspension lamp designed by Bruno Munari in 1964.

Two simple and instant items, two Made in Italy design classic, become part of our homes.

Ron Gilad / Fragments of Life
“Fragments of life”, named after Ron Gilad’s first collection for Danese Milano in 2017, is a collection of works undertaken by Ron Gilad in the past few years in collaboration with the Italian companies Cassina, Danese Milano, Alias and Flos.

The main gallery space is dedicated to small scale domestic objects developed for Danese during the past two years, showing evolution of ideas and elaborating the unique perspective of Gilad on daily objects, questioning matters like functionality, structure and perception.

Along the walls, mirrors developed for Cassina, framed in wood, play with reflections through geometry. Some are parts of an ever ending puzzle and some, voided in its center, question our narcissist habits...

Danese Milano @ Design Week 2019

Danese Milano @ Design Week 2019
The Danese 2019 collection and the work with which it was conceived can be summed up by the word RICUCITURE, or a series of design operations that can relate to the past and present of Danese.
Gentle sewing operations to bring out friendships, proximity and empathy between existing and new products, also investigating areas never explored before by Danese (see the accessory for the person) and also feeding the strand of material and functional research, an aspect always present in previous Danese collections.
The idea is to move in different directions to emphasize the free and transversal spirit of Danese.
I thought of using a drawing to better tell the story of the new collection, the work moved according to three design actions: RELATIONS, REISSUES, RESEARCH. The set diagram shown here should help you to better orient yourself among the elements of the new collection.
